M and M Livestock ~ Club Lambs & Market Goats

Thanks for visiting our site and for allowing us to introduce ourselves to you. M and M Livestock first started in 2008 when Mickey and I got married. He had his farm in Franklin, Georgia and I had always grown up on my parent's farm in Calhoun. My family had been raising top quality club lambs for over 28 years. My brother, Matthew, and I grew up showing club lambs raised by our family and show cattle. We had many great years in the livestock ring. When Mickey and I got married in 2008, I brought 12 ewes and 8 percentage Boer goats with me to the farm in Franklin and combined them with his small flock. He was in a partnership with my family on a buck, but I seriously don't think he realized that he was marrying into as many sheep and goats as what arrived at his place. Within the last few years, our sheep and goat herd has grown to more than 50 ewes, 15 does, and 7 sires! The ewes that we have primarily go back to my family's flock, Stamey Club Lambs, but some Burch, Hancock, Belgalka, and McGolden are present. We were very fortunate to go in partners with Stamey Club Lambs and purchase our buck, ROCK, from Barton in Texas in 2009. In 2010, we bought another ram with Stamey Club Lambs from Clay Elliot. Other sires that are used on the farm include IZZY, Insight son from McGolden, and our other new sire, Crossfire, from Powercat Club Lambs. The goats are still the new thing to Mickey but he is growing to love them everyday! Our buck, Big Red, came to us from Kallie-Hare Red and is the only sire we used on the does in 2010. Our club lambs and market goats are a very important part of life here at M and M Livestock. We have been very fortunate to have already brought home many Champions with our club lambs and goats over the last couple of years. It has definitely been successful in the showring for us.
